Replies to '09/12 The N-Word Debate'

I am a 53 year old white female.  My grandparents and aunt were Old Order Mennonites and I've found that my aunt (the "Bible Thumper") was a bigot.  Thankfully, my dad (raised in the same home) never tolerated any bigotry.  Growing up in the 60's & 60's I was taught that everyone was equal and should be treated with respect.  I assure you, that the N-word was NEVER used in our home.  To this day, when someone uses it, I let them know that I do not like, acknowledge or tolerate hearing it.  If the person using it is offended......Too Bad!
