Of course, this is just my opinion. If you were born here; you are an American. You might have some Russian, or German, or Portuguese ancestry somewhere along the line, or African or Irish.
You were born here; you are AMERICAN period. Thank you for bringing up this WHOLE other debated topic. I read an article in the 1990's about why are Black Americans referred to as African Americans. When i asked a number people in the black community what they thought about it, they said they preferred being called Black...not african american. So called "Political correctness" is enough to make up all regurgitate
