Money Matters

Quote From: kimberly_reed

I understand how they feel about their financial situation but at the same time from what I see, I don't think they struggle as much with food and housing costs as they say. I am sorry, but my family and I are what they call "dirt poor". Our car is paid for ($250.00) and looks it. I still pay the insurance. I rent, I still pay the insurance. I work, I still have trouble buying even food. But this lady, her hair is DYED BLONDE. I can not even afford to dye the gray out of mine. If I had that extra money, I would get hair dye. Or nails done. I own three pair of pants, 5 shirts. I get FRUSTRATED with people who "think" they are struggling.
I so totally agree with you!!!!  Just keeping up with the basics in life is hard.  These people chose to live in a life-style they couldn't afford.  I only feel sorry for the struggling working-class people.

I looked at her perfectly done hair dye job and wondered how much she pays her hairdresser for the upkeep.  Around her it  the average is about $75 but we live in north Louisiana.     I have heard of people moving to areas with a higher COL and the cost for a good hair color is twice that amount. No telling what that bottle blonde is paying for her blonde locks.  I cover my gray and have highlights but I got to Sallys or else get my color free after rebate at CVS or Walgreens.

you can save a boatload of money on groceries and HBA by using coupons. Please don't tell me that coupons are only for high-priced food that nobody buys or just for junk food. I have a deep freeze full of veggies that says otherwise. The other week my local paper had $1 off steamer veggies and they were on sale @ most stores for 10/$10.... free veggies for me...lots of them. A few weeks before it was free bread., and nearly free whole grain pasta. these are just some examples.  I feed my familyof 5 on less than $250/mo and that includes HBA (health and beauty) I have bins full of shampoo and conditioner...name brands Garnier, Dove, etc. that I got for free or was actually paid to take out of the store. I also have a year's supply of toilet paper (free with coupons) toothpaste, toothbrushes, razors, shaving cream, etc. AND hair dye, bought on clearance (the box style was being changed) with coupons, FREE.

Check out hotcouponworld.com it's free and the people there are so friendly and helpful.
