Hi, Michele! My name's Luanne. I'm 54 years young and I totally know where you're coming from. Several years ago, I had a trainer for 3 months, and lost only a few pounds. He kept saying I was working so hard, the weight should've just come off, but it didn't. Anyway, you've got to be feeling great about losing the 18 inches! Congrats on that - it's a real accomplishment! : ) In the last few months, I lost 40 pounds, with a different trainer. Does your trainer have you doing cardio with a heart rate monitor? My trainer recommended getting one, and showed how to do cardio with the monitor, so the body learned to burn the fat. She told me how long to work in each of the different zones (how many beats your heart beats per minute, and how long in each zone). My monitor also shows how many calories are being burned, so that in itself is a little motivating.  I still have 65 pounds to lose, and am glad Dr. Phil is having this challenge again. It seems to help me to have a set time frame to work towards a goal like the 12 weeks. And doing it  with other people makes it so much more fun!

 

Keep up the good work - that weight is going to come off along with those inches! : )
