Quote From: maia2976What state do you live in and did you hire a lawyer?
It is very random and very unusual for a court system to take children away from a parent, especially a mother based on accusation alone without evidence to confirm. I don't mean to imply that you are not writing your whole truth but it is confusing and I'd love to know what steps you took to regain your children during and after this experience? The social welfare system is a long way from perfect and more often than not children are falling through the cracks before they are wrongly removed from a home.
I am very interested in your story! And I do write that with sincerity.
I had a public defender, and I told him that he could get a rap sheet to see that I had never
been in trouble in my life, all he said that we were past that point. I tried to tell him that is what the
judge is makeing his desision on. My world was lost I was alone, even though I have 7 brothers and sisters, I had always been treated different. There is a reason I feel that my mother did what she
did, but I was in shock, that was my life, yes at a short time of my life I was doing drugs, but I was on
a program at that time, and even went as far to go to a residentional one. I was told it was to late.
At this time I no longer have been doing drugs, and I live in ca. I could not believe what was happening.
My mother lives about 12 miles away and has not tried to get in touch with me since 1986, when this all happened. I was not even around her. She had it out for me because I found out her dirty secret at 19,
that she was going to put me up for adoption because my dad was in the navy at that time. I am not the
only child. She was mad when I found out and let it out of the bag. That is what I feel.
