10/19 "I'm Gay, OK?"

Quote From: indmiracle

I so agree with you.  You seem to have yourself together at an early age.  Your parents must be very proud of you.

I had a very dear friend I lost 2 years ago.  He was gay.  But, he did not feel the need to shout it to the world.  Everyone knew.  He did not try to hide it.  He often made mention of his partner at work.  He did not keep it hid.  He lived like many other so called "normal" people.  He simply lived.

Yes my parents are very proud of me. lol! Are you a parent?

I am on the High School Newspaper in my school and I even wrote an article on homosexuals in our school and it went over with our school quite well.

I'm sorry you lost your friend. He sounded like a good person. My mom's a nurse, and being so she has dealt with many homosexuals due to STD's and AIDS and she always has a hard time too when she loses one of them, as they become her friends. Being young, I haven't lost any homosexual friends yet and I can't even imagine what that would be like.

I'm glad that he was more than just an acitivist. Not saying that activists are bad, I just believe it's important to maintain a variety of different aspects to your personality in life. You're never going to get EVERYONE to agree with you, and people need to accept that.  People that are never satisfied until everyone accepts them will never be satisfied and will live a lonely life. No one will accept you until you learn to accept yourself.
