It is the behavior that needs to be addressed and the triggers that the alchoholic must face. He conviently forgot that point of his illfated arguement.
It is sad that he referred to a illness to form that comparrison.
I preferr to use hair color. I pretty much disagree whole heartedly with 'once an alcoholic always an alcoholic'.
I don't believe that someone who hasn't touched a drop of alcohol in 20 years is an alcoholic. I believe they are a recovered alcoholic. A person no different than myself who simply can't touch alcohol again, but why give yourself such a negative title when you have been free of it for so long?
Former drug addicts don't call themselves 'drug addicts' after being freed from addiction.
Former smokers don't continue to call themselves smokers.
