Don't you think, it's ironic, that out of all of these old Testament laws, the only ones mentioned again in the New Testament happens to be homosexuality? Of course, God, knowing the future, knew that people would turn against this particular law and made sure it was included again in the New Testament so that all men would be without excuse.
If people have used God's word in an unjust manner, and have used the scriptures to justify their actions, then it's not about God, is it?
In my opinion, that is exactly what is happening here. God's laws are being misused, manipulated or even ignored and there will eventually be a penalty to pay.
Here goes,
I disagree with some presumptions that you draw, and agree with others:
- Sexual laws regarding beastiality, peophilia and incest are important especially when they invole innocent victoms. Those that have no voice for their concent. Sexual activity between concenting adults is just that, concentual, mutual and ageed upon.
- Don't you think ironic that Christians forget that Christ told us to follow His commandment. Love thy neighbor as you would love yourself. To be Christian is to be Christ-like. Jesus is not only the Son of God but also the Word of God made man.
- I'm not sure what you mean by, "If people have used God's word in an unjust manner,..." The Word of God has been used by man to justify man's actions againts huamity in various perverse ways. From exclusion/inclusion, to conversion or death, in drawing up laws and other various persicutory actions. Ever hear of the crusades, white supremicy, slavery? The Word of God has been used to justify those actions.
- Finally, I agree. The Word of God, as deliverd by His Son, Jesus Christ, is being misused.
- Judge not, least ye be judged.
- Love thy neighbor as you love yourself.
- Those without sin may cast the first stone.
