Replies to '07/29 "I Survived!" Caught on Camera'

I just keep thinking about Spencer and his family.  I get it, I know he is lucky to be alive, but I also "get" how that family feels.  My kids are atheletes and we spend our time on the road watching them, paying for this camp or the right kind of shoes.  My favorite thing to do is sit outside and watch baseball all day, or volleyball, or whatever else the kids are playing.  We talk about the game, we think about the game, we "de-brief" after the game. It's our life, so I can imagine their pain, their disappointment, their grieving for the future that they've lost.  To many these games are so irrelevant so they would think it's crazy to care so much about a silly "game".  But to others, like our family, who are competors, and sports oriented ,it means a great deal.  I'm sick for Spencer and his family, I know looking back after years pass he will be able to cope with the "what-ifs" but for now it's obviously devastating.  My heart goes out them, hang in there!
