Yes, it really makes you wonder how teens are sending/recieving countless texts without their parents being charged an arm and a leg. When my 16 y/o niece had T-Mobile she had unlimited texting; however, she recently switched to Verizon so, I'm not sure what what kind of plan she has now. I don't know that Verizon offers unlimited texting. My mom and I are with Verizon as well; we share a plan that offers 250 free texts per person/per month. After either of us exceed the 250 for that month it charges the normal cost of texting.
The earliest I can remember having a cell phone was around 1988. My mom bought her first "phone in a bag," as we liked to call it. It was a privilege and not a necessity. She and I were talking the other day about how fast "life" is and how expensive the cost of living is. I don't know how much faster it can get before we'll have get rid of the extra luxuries and live on the bare necessities like they did in the 60's and prior. Sometimes, I wish we would be forced to go back and with the economy the way it, I can't help but wonder if we are in the beginning stages.
