Hon, I can tell you from experience, he does not think you are unattractive. Your husband suffers from low self esteem. That is why he calls you names and then worries that you will leave him. He is trying to make himself feel better by belittling you. He is terrified that if you do anything to improve yourself he will lose you. I bet it would be the same if you went to college, got a better  job, etc., etc....
