Been in your shoes
Quote From: bioidenticalAfter viewing "What's Hormones Got To Do With It?" I became a bit dissatisfied with my current results with bioidentical hormones. Since starting them about six months ago I didn't experience the "immediate" improvements that were shared by the ladies on the show. Learning that this is possible and that I didn't experience it is disappointing to me. I thought I was doing the right thing by switching over to bioidenticals, but now don't know where to go from here. Also disappointing is that I have gained back weight I struggled to lose. Wondering if that is an unavoidable side effect of the hormones? Is there one way of delivery that is better that another? (cream vs. troche)

I was not a typical woman that responded within 3 days to bios. I am an extreme case according to my doctor because of my age and I had a hysterectomy that forced me into early menopause. Evidently, I need higher levels because of my age but that is not a predetermined number. I am going on almost 5 months now and just getting enough of levels to start making me feel good. As a matter of fact, I'm feeling great. It doesn't always happen quickly. Your levels may need to be higher than what your doctor is giving you. I go back and do bloodwork every 2 months and we make adjustments based on my feelings and blood levels. I even quit taking testosterone and doubled my progesterone because I became way to adgitated on testerosterone. This all takes time if you give it a chance. BTW...I use the creams and they are awesome. My doctor said if I didn't feel better this round, then we would use vaginal medicine which increases your levels extremely quick. There are even options with bios. Don't give up. Talk with your doctor about how you feel. Harrass her if you have to. I did and it's finally paying off. Good luck!
