The religion of Christianity, aka Orthodox Christianity," has literally replaced "The Way" which was the doctrinal belief system founded upon faith in Jesus the Christ and the pagan created mocking epithet "Christian" was replaced the original word used by Jesus' followers which was "Beliver" or "Faith (person)."
Just because a person is called "Christian" or self-identifies as "Christian" is no sign the person actually believes in Jesus the Christ and also completely lives by Jesus' teaching as recorded in the Bible. Constantine created the Catholic Church, not Christianity by any means.
If there are 3 mentions of the word Christian in the New Testament, you can bet that followers of Christ have been calling themselves Christians since the days of Christ.
Again, though, not everyone who calls themselves Christian is one. I have my own doubts about Constantine himself.
