What I wouldn't have done for a good guy or gal in the parking lot with a loaded weapon. What if there had been a Band Dad there and he saw what was happening and could respond? What if there had been an off duty police officer there with weapon? What if a Color Guard Mom had a concealed weapon permit and was in posession of a weapon? What if Caitlin's Pa had shown up there 15 minutes earlier and he had a weapon?
The problem was the person holding the gun. And that person should have been in jail for felony pointing of a weapon and kidnapping! The second ammendment was designed for precisely these situations. The Founding Fathers anticipated that a free society would also be free to morally unfit people. The second ammendment assures all individuals the right to protect themselves. They knew the police or other forces would not always be able to respond in time.
I want criminals like Savage in jail!
