I Want Plastic Surgery Because...

I've had gastric bypass surgery and I've lost 160 pounds since my surgery. I have to wait untilI have finished graduate school but I want to have the extra skin removed from my legs, bottom, and stomach. If I am able I would like to have the extra skin removed from the upper arms and back. As an adult I have always been fat, so I am very happy to have lost this weight. It has totally changed my life. I feel like such a different person. My husband agrees. My children have never seen me this size.

I've been where you are.  Congratulations.  Welcome to life.

I have lost 120 lbs., so I know how you are feeling. I really don't have too much excessive skin but enough that I could have a few things done. I completely lost my chest and now I look like a man. I have some saggy parts and I would love to have a tummy tuck and lipo. It is like having a new life. People treat you differently when you are thin and that makes you wonder.... "I've been the same person this whole time and now you want to be nice to me". Good job on your success.

Dear Dr. Phil,

my wife has been bugging me for almost a month now about wanting some kind of make-over. Personally, I don't see why she wants one because to me she looks fine. She's feeling down about how she looks and how her clothes look on her. So if you could please help me, I'm totally lost on how to deal with this constant bickering?

Sincerely,

~Husband In Need Of Your Help

Good for you.  I to had gastric bypass 27 years ago.  I went from a size 24 to a size 10 - 12.  I lost 140 lbs. and have kept it off.  My health insurance paid for my tummy tuck because of the amount of skin and the sores in the fold that could not be healed.  However my breast now sag but my husband still loves them.  My thighs are starting to sag towards my knees so I wear capris instead of shorts.  My upper arms are so saggy and Godbless children my grandson is always pushing them up and tells me he is fixing my wingbuds.  I told him that the skin hanging there is where my wings will grow when I die.  Insurance won't pay for any of those things honey sorry to say.  Unless you are very well off you just learn to live with it and find ways to camoflauge what you can.  Your family is so proud of you and believe me you are harder on yourself than they ever would be.  They look at you through eyes of love and those eyes only see perfect.  Good luck in what ever you decide and congratulations on your weight lose.

It is possible to remove all access skin there are a few web sites you  can check out for information about these types of procedures,
www.vanitycashstar.com for cosmetic surgery risks, what to avoid and information
& www.realself.com were you can ask actual surgeons about the procedures you are wanting and can get feed back from everyday people who have these procedures done

make sure you consult with at least 5 different surgeons and if just 1 of them says no dont go ahead with it, its not worth the risk
