If you are true to your heart, forgoing antagonistic attitudes, eventually you'll will find him.  So although you claim athiest by default or what ever reason, just suppose he is there and you couldn't change that fact no matter what, ...  would you want him to claim you.    If so just start talking to him and he'll find you.  If not he'll still be keeping an eye on you until you are ready!
