Quote From: chiiwingsI had a chance to go on a Caribean cruise, but my mom said no. She said it was "because of school" but it was a time of year where nothing was happening. I think this is the real reason. An 18 yr old red head...even she wasn't allowed to go somewhere without a male escort, and if she didn't have one the ship provided her with one.
After reading the summary (I'm in France right now and don't get the show**sob**) I will never ever ever go to Aruba. Doesnt anyone see the pattern here of that one club Carlos 'N Charlie's??? It was mentioned in both cases! I bet anything it's part of an underground sex slave ring
I'm NEVER going on a cruise to Aruba, and will only go on a Caribean cruise at all unless I find a boyfriend who is a 6 foot something-body builing-martial arts master
Dear Chiiwings, and all other young women reading here,
Yes, the world is a terrible place. Yes, there are monsters out there; predators, evil people. And unfortunately, yes, pretty young women are their prime 'prey'. But the world is also a beautiful place, There are wonderful people out there. There are great sights to be seen, amazing cultures to be sampled. Our parents and grandparents fought, strugled and worked blood sweat and tears to make it possible for our generation to go see all these things.
Please do not deny yourself this opportunity!
If you bring with you a smile, and a certain modicum of respect for the fact that you are on 'another tribe's territory' most places in this world are fairly safe. What else should you bring with you? Well, a 6' foot body-building martial arts master is good ;-) If for the company alone. Marc 'Animal' McYoung's books are well recommended as well. He knows a thing or two about staying out of trouble, or if all else fails, getting out of trouble. Get onto Amazon and order these right away. Really, you won't regret it.
What else can you do? Well, for starters this one goes to all US citizens: Work hard at preserving your right to own and bear arms! And if you still can, go to a range, learn all the safety stuff, and get one. Rights not excercised, go away!!! I speak as someone from a country where we lost this battle a long time ago, at our detriment.
Learn about the patterns and behaviours of predators. Know what situations to avoid.
Stay in a group at all times.
Make sure someone knows where you are, and when you expect to arrive somewhere else, etc.
These things all apply anywhere, any time.
But most importantly; learn to read statistics. Apart from some war-zones, in most places in the world something happening to you like what happened (or may have) to Amy and Natalee is still about as common as getting hit by lightning on a clear night. Caution is good. Locking yourself from the world is not.
I hope you enjoy France. If you have a chance I recommend Barcelona, Berlin, Amsterdam, Prague... all places you'll be glad you visited for the rest of your life. Don't let fear stop you. Be safe, but don't be afraid!
Kind regards,
