Schizo-Affective Disorder
Quote From: heiscoming You are very brave being only 18 years old. My husband had a psychotic breakdown before we married. All people during a break down have symptoms of all the mental illnesses including schizophrenia. Never let a doctor try all different kinds of medication. That alone will cause such a chemical imbalance they really don't know what to diagnose. Make sure you always have another significant other to monitor that you always take the medicine they have you on. Never just stop taking it as another relapse will surely happen. I took my husband home, gave him his pills (only Lithium) as he was diagnosed as bi-polar. I bought Christian books and tapes and he read the Bible daily and prayed without ceasing. He never had another breakdown for 15 years. A significant other I believe is the MOST important. And a good Christian counselor. Your friend, Cindy I've been diagnosed with Schizo-Affective Disorder, which some of it resembles parts of Schizophrenia. I don't really hear voices day after day, but talk with people in my head. If I am not on medicine, I do hear spirits talking, angels and disciples or Saints singing (that was my last episode). My question is will my disorder now turn into full-blown schizophrenia in the future? I am on thorazine, vistrol, and wellbutrin, and my husband administers my medicine because I forget to take it. As for now, I just think I have a gift of talking to Spirits? Leah
