I have been raising my three grandchildren since birth.I also have legal custody of them. They are ages six and a set of twins age five. I consider myself blessed having being part of their preicous lives. I'm still involved with my daughter whom is their mother. They call her from time to time and she has visited twice in three years. My daughter tells me that she is doing much better, no drugs and she has a job now. I have not seen this for myself. Anyway my concern is my daughter has two other children and their dad is addicted to crack. My child states she has nothing more to do with him. However he answers her phone everytime I call. She said she has a court order of protection aganist him because pf physical abuse. Once again every time I call he answers the phone.
My grandchildren whom I'm rasing call me mommy...I let them know who their mother is , and the oldest does not even like to chat on the phone with her.
My mom thinks I should adopt the children. I just don't want to cause confusion with them once they get older. Please advise...
