I would not doubt that demonic influence was involved. However, this man's history and the methods he used would need examining before I could speculate on what this could have been.
I totally agree, thus God's word of protection specfically written in the Book of Ephesians. I plead the blood of Jesus every single day. Many years ago, the Lord took me out of that environment and showed me his Word.
People need to be educated on the open doorways that allow these demons access to their lives. We need more Christian teachers out there explaining these things.
