You'r GP can't give you a diagnosis of TS, mine kept telling me it was STRESS, and I had his eye's checked because he was blinking so hard at one point on the soccer field that he couldn't see for a moment. All THREE of my boy's with TS play sports and live normal happy lives. The TICS need to be present for a period of 12months on and off, for a diagnosis. The Tics do wax and wan, they are not at a constant level all the time. The most comon one's are; eye blinking, eye rolling, shoulder shrugging, sniffing, throat clearing, coughing, nose scrunching, my oldest spins when he walks when he is under stress, it is one of my clues that he has had a bad day. If there is any question is your mind you need to get your GP to reffer you to a Phychiatrist, that is who can make a proper diagnosis for you. And yes the Tics can get worse when they hit puberty, he may have had a mild case as a child but as puberty starts it is becoming more prevelent.
