I have seen many adults over the last 10 years who label themselves as High-functioning Autistic when they are just plain rude, picky, socially inept, pre-occupied with their carreer, or downright obnoxious. Same with ADD & ADHD.
There is a clear difference. No one labels themselves autistic if they really aren't. If you knew anything about the disorder, maybe you would understand that those people that you encountered were probably telling you the truth. That's the "clear" difference.
