01/19 Follow-ups
Quote From: djbubbleHave any of the government officials looked into the possibility that Natalie was kidnapped and "trafficked" to another country, i.e. sold into prostitution? I saw a special on the TV show Independent Lens about trafficking girls and also the movie on Lifetime about the subject...according to the shows, it is much more common than we think...

I haven't read anything about this possibility in any of the reports. Has anyone?   Uh, if by "we" you mean most Americans, then yes I agree. Most Americans have no concept of how common certain practices are in other parts of the world. In some parts of South East Asia for example the sex trade is a very lucrative buissness. In fact there have even been instances of women and men being trafficed into the US from several countries.
Now, with that said unless there is evidence that CLEARLY points to this girl being kidnapped and sold into the sex industry than I personally would not even check that avenue. People who are kidnapped and enter the sex industry by force RARELY escape, and are nearly impossible to find. It's not something most people in ANY country talk about with the police, or make WIDELY known.
