Sorry, i'm just 40 year old, but i had to respond to your message. Why are you Americans so afraid of carbs? You need them! And they don't make you fat unless it's from unrefined sugars. (sorry didn't want to sound angry 'cause i'm not, butI just don't understand your fear of carbs) Did you try Dr. Phil's program? I'm very sure it works for elder people too.

Not at all afraid of carbs. My diet is full of fruits, vegetables, nuts, dairy products, more grains in the winter than now and protein always. If I have any fear it is of my enjoyment of the bad carbs containing way too much refined sugar and the unhealthy fats. Those I have no use for but they are always a temptation.
Healthy eating and activity within my ability is my aim but I am not perfect. Not American either.
