I have received several emails and comments about the Dr Phil promo.

Few quick notes about it.

First I am going to use the quote I heard on Oprah recently by Mary J Blige.

About my mother… “I blame her for NOTHING and I forgive her everything.”

That’s how I feel.  YES my mother blames herself a lot on the show and I wish she had not.  I am saying NOW that I never blamed my mother.  She is only guilty of loving me and being my mother.  That’s all

Its not as though my mother brings me truckloads of food on a daily basis despite what you see.  She just only wished to see me happy and she knows that the food I wanted is what made me happy.

Paul

Hello Paul

When I first posted the first message, I didnt even notice you already posted first. In the last message I didnt  mean to appear as if I was criticizing the situation. Sometimes I can be like that. I do wish the best for you and the help you can get to turn your health in a good direction. Ive seen Dr. Phil do a lot of good things for people.

I was wondering if your show/story has been aired before on T.V

Hi Paul,

Please do not listen to people who want to place the blame on your mother's shoulders. She has been on this whole journey with you and I am sure she did the best she could with what she had. It is so counter productive to blame...instead move forward. With your mother's love and help you can do anything you decide to do about your problem. It is not going to be easy and you will both need each other. I wish you both the best of luck and pray for you to achieve your goals!

I am very happy to see someone take responsibility for their actions. Sometimes when you are a parent and you love your children with all your heart your biggest desire is to see them happy. Sometimes you don't do the right things everyone makes mistakes. Hopefully we learn from our mistakes and we can do something to correct them. Sometimes in the correction of our mistakes we have to take an uncomfortable stand. I think your mom is a brave woman. It wasn't easy to come on the Dr. Phil show knowing that she would be criticized and talked bad about. I give her props.

Yes Paul I agree....it is not really your mothers fault...YOU are the one who has to say NO to these foods..its YOUR battle and you are the one who has to ASK for her to bring you healthier choices.  I lived in a remote community where the fresh produce was expensive and often poor quality and I gained weight as well due to a lack of affordable and available fresh produce...but in your situation this is life or death....I am sure if you appeal to some charitys or SOMEONE..maybe all the people HERE or Dr Phils people could arrange some fund raising for you to fill a deepfreezer full of frozen veggies and berries etc...and I am sure there are some people out there with money who would ship some fresh fruit to you or SOMETHING...you have to ask and I am sure there are people who will help you.  There are people in the world with alot of money who are more than willing to help someone like you....also whole grains are not expensive, nor is canned tuna...and there are still ways to stabilize your blood sugar and stay away from cake etc etc on a budget.  This has to become your top priority if you want to LIVE.  its life or death....good food is your much needed medicine and you need to find a way past the financial dilemna..thats another excuse..surely where there is a will there is a way and sometimes you need to ASK for help.  Have you ever read Susan Powter books?  She has alot of good tips on eating HEALTHY and her story is kind of inspiring too...she was very overweight initially and had to get up to walk to the tree and back..then to the end of the driveway and back..bit by bit a little more each day.  Her advice was to not put anything in your mouth that is not healthy and good for you...think about HEALTH when it comes to food choices....
