I second that....

Quote From: ranger1355

If you haven't seen the show, how can you sit and make the judgement that Jon is a complete coward?  April is a manipulative person who likes to play little power games and then hide behind her disease when the heat gets too hot for her.  Dr Phil played into her little power game and let his show become the latest arena for April to abuse Jon.
I couldn't believe Jon put up with as much as he did. What was April's excuse for kicking Jon out every morning around 4 am? Why did they skip right over the fact she has some serious controll issues? Dr Phil didn't make April "get real". She had no ownership what so ever.

I agree....It was all made out to be Jon's fault...What about April? Why cant this woman take responsibility for her actions. In my opinion....she's really not a very nice person.  She is basically trying to be Jon on the spot in front of millions of viewers. I believe she refused to sign the papers..If she had agreed to it...wouldnt they have already been signed??????

April is like an addict?

...I kind of thought so too..she seemed to have the same denial coverup not so honest type of personality as an addict does..and just like any other person in a relationship with an addict it seemed like a no win situation.  I dont blame him for getting out and while of course I think he isnt good for her anyhow and hope that of course she gets better, I still think I cant really blame him for leaving her either.  In some ways he has GUTS to do the right thing unlike WOMEN who often stay with thier addict or alcoholic husbands for YEARS as codependants.  I think that Dr Phil missed the boat a little on this one too..its the first time I see the he  didnt quite get it with April and yet then again I can understand his concern and support of her since her life is so fragile.

This woman has more problems than just her eating disorder.  She is obsessive-compulsive in everything she did, cleaning the house, no food in the cabinets, and making Jon clean the shower after he worked a shift.  If it wasn't right, she'd clean it again.  She kicked him out of bed after only a couple hours sleep.  How long would any of us lasted with interrupted sleep?  She would scream and act a fool (tried to jump out of a moving vehicle) after drinking.  This man was a victim just as much as April was a victim of her disease.  April abused Jon mentally.  He was manipulated, probably threatened and coerced all the way down the aisle.   When she went into the hospital, he found out that he could have a normal life, not the mess he was in.  I cannot blame him for wanting out, I cannot blame him for wanting a healthy life, I cannot blame him for the way he did it, he knew April better than anyone. I think he was made to look like the bad one in this relationship, because her disease was life threatening.

Did Jon handle telling April the right way? No, and he said so.  You can only admit your wrong and try to do better the next time.

This is the first time I have thought a guest was treated unfairly.   I can understand it,  April's disease is much worse than the injustice Jon received.  I cannot blame her either, she's sick and her diease took control of her.  It's just a sad situation all the way around.  I am glad that someone saw it from Jon's side, as I did.
