This woman has more problems than just her eating disorder. She is obsessive-compulsive in everything she did, cleaning the house, no food in the cabinets, and making Jon clean the shower after he worked a shift. If it wasn't right, she'd clean it again. She kicked him out of bed after only a couple hours sleep. How long would any of us lasted with interrupted sleep? She would scream and act a fool (tried to jump out of a moving vehicle) after drinking. This man was a victim just as much as April was a victim of her disease. April abused Jon mentally. He was manipulated, probably threatened and coerced all the way down the aisle. When she went into the hospital, he found out that he could have a normal life, not the mess he was in. I cannot blame him for wanting out, I cannot blame him for wanting a healthy life, I cannot blame him for the way he did it, he knew April better than anyone. I think he was made to look like the bad one in this relationship, because her disease was life threatening.
Did Jon handle telling April the right way? No, and he said so. You can only admit your wrong and try to do better the next time.
This is the first time I have thought a guest was treated unfairly. I can understand it, April's disease is much worse than the injustice Jon received. I cannot blame her either, she's sick and her diease took control of her. It's just a sad situation all the way around. I am glad that someone saw it from Jon's side, as I did.
