Depression
Quote From: heather175WOW, what a blesssing that they picked up on that immediately. But how utterly devastating to have her taken to another hospital like that. You always look so forward to seeing and holding your baby after 9 months of wondering exactly what they look like and then to have them "taken away".
I am glad that they have monitored it and and now it may just have "fixed" itself. For lack of a better term. Yeah, it was rough when they took her. You have children, so you know about the "after birth contractions", I assume. They were hurting more than the real ones when I was in labor. Then the doctor came in the room, and was trying to tell me about her while I was screaming in pain, then in anger for them trying to "steal" my new baby! Looking back, I don't think I took it that well, and if I ever see that doctor again, I may have to appoligize for my behavior! They noticed something wasn't right right after she was born. They were checking her heartbeat, and all that stuff, then all gathered around her, muttering to themselves. Turns out her heart was going about 300 beats per minute, when about 150 is normal for a newborn. A lot of babies are born like that, and have to have a dose of something called Adenisin (spelling probably wrong), to slow it down. Something about the stress of being born. But I am so happy they caught it, and it was treated, not left alone. Yeah, "fix" is a good enough term for it going away, that's what my husband and I call it :)
