02/24 Liar, Liar
Quote From: saemaeThe next time you walk into your church, walk up to all the gossips and tell them, "You are a filthy gossip." Hey, it's the truth. You gotta tell it. See how well that goes over. Then tell the bad singers in the choir, "You sound like a screaming cat in a bucket." Hey, it's the truth. You gotta tell it. See how well that goes over. Then follow the deacons, and anyone who puts in any less than a ten spot walk up to them and say, "You're ripping off God." Hey, it's the truth. You gotta tell it. See how well that goes over. Then when the pastor misquotes one single word from the Bible, stand up immediately and scream at the top of your lungs, "You misquoted the Bible! Only a true man of God could read the Bible word for word!" Hey, in your world, it's the truth. See how that goes over.
After you've done all this and you get home, go stand in front of a mirror and look at yourself long and hard. Then ask yourself, was it worth making all those people hurt and angry to hang on to the truth? Then ask yourself, hey wasn't I judging all those people on the Dr. Phil board for lying when I don't know them and God is the ultimate judge and I just tried to take his job? I think you'll not be too pleased with yourself after that.
P.S. For extra credit, during the Christmas season, walk up to the mall Santa as he is talking to a bright-eyed, hopeful toddler. Scream at the top of your lungs, "THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS SANTA CLAUS!" Then post us and let us know how many parents beat you up, how long it took you to post bail, etc. Then consider keeping your opinions to yourself and allowing the rest of our children to keep their imaginations and their beliefs in all things magical. Remember, to our little children, God is magical too. First I will have my opinions like anyone else, you have yours I have mine. You misquoted me. I didn't say bust anyone bubble that already have the beliefs I said why teach our kids the lie in the first place. I didn't say don't celebrate we are talking about lies and where they originate. Those R the first lies a parent inc. myself tell our kids. We don't give that's teaching a lie. I remember when I first learned the truth about the holidays I was 12. (many many yrs ago)I came from a large family and 12 was the year we each learned the truth. I was devastated here we got whippings if we lied and here our parents had been lying to us all these yrs. I was one of those kids that you see crying to get off Santas lap and the parents are forcing them to sit there. Have to get a pic. Mall Santas R people hired temp, we tell our kids stay away from strangers and then sit our kid on a strangers lap. Now every kid is different. What affects one doesn't affect all. But my point is a lie is a lie. Whether its a "white" lie, black ,blue or purple, big or little its still a lie. Ok so U say so you hurt peoples feelings No I change the subject or try to say nothing. A minister in church making a mistake in his sermon is different than outright lying anyone can make a mistake believe me I've made many, but if I feel he's lying in his life and teachings I just don't go back. Whatever floats your boat, I don't have to believe what you belief as long as your belief doesn't hurt me or mine go for it. I have a girlfriend that lies all the time about her life. Our other friend calls her on it. I said you know if it makes her happy to believe her lies she has to live w/it not me. But none of that was the point of the show the show was about lying and my comment was lying is wrong, but some of the things we teach our kids-the first person to teach them anything- are lies. And I'd like to see some parent try to beat me up its not gonna be an easy job and to kick a behind you gotta bring one. Read what I said I didn't say I was judging All those people on dr phil you did.The show was aboout LYING and my comment was aboout LYING....
