The blue wall

Quote From: kleesun

They sound like they're BOTH spinning it.  He sounds like he's got a Macho Man complex and she sounds like she's got a Victim complex.  I mean, I know that reality is perceived, but it never fails to amaze me how badly some people can fly off the handle when they don't get their way.  They need to get far, far, away from one another.

I agree with Dr. Phil that they each have their perspective and then there is another view that has their self-interests, defenses, rationalizations, justifications and excuses out of it.

What I disagree with, out of personal experience, is the claim that cops don't protect cops.  My neice married a controllaholic cop who was being protected after the separation when his behavior towards her and her son got sick.  As it happens, my sister (my neices mom and grandma to their son) also works for a police department.  It became a battle of the blues.  If my sister had not be affiliated with a police department, then all the various police were standing by his sick behaviors.  Only when she got her police departments support did the men in blue from other cities/county stand aside and it remained his department vs hers.  I'd applaud their loyalty except that my grand nephew was paying the price.

I am really glad that Dr. Phil has personal experience of not having a blue wall.  I sure wish that had been our experience.  It was not.   It is now years later and her ex has gone on to attempt to control others because the protections are in place to distance the parents and have structured and supervised visitations.   But, when the controllaholic is a cop that is not easily come by.
