Sounds like you need a friend

Hello,

I am new at this site. How do you check to see if anyone replied to our postings? I had an arguement with my husband last night. I wanted to discussion his drinking problem. I said some things which weren't very nice. He knew I was serious on my belief. Once during our conservation, he told me I was having an episode regarding my illness. Which wasn't fair to me since I knew actually what I was talking about and wanting him to see it from my point of view.  My mood is better today. I called churches checking out some bible studies hoping to find some extra support outside the family.  What advise does anyone have for me with my depressive mood and trying to see the positives in life?

Hi, I'm Ann.  Also new to this site...and the idea of BP.

I'd love to have someone to talk to regarding this complicated life we lead.  It sounds like we could both use a better support in general.  Perhaps we can use eachother as a sounding board.  To check replies, go to your message and click the button at the bottom that allows you to check replies...I think that should work.

Hope to hear from you again.  Have a great day.

Hi,

Check out support groups in your area. They are a wonderful source of support, and it is so helpful to not feel alone in your struggles.

A good one is DBSA. Try looking one up in your area at www. DBSA.org. They should have a way for you to find a list of groups in your area.

Take care

Hi...click on your name in the left hand corner.  The next screen select to view messages that you wrote...only the messages you wrote will come up.  Then in the lower right corner after the post click on replies to this post and every message that was written to you regarding that specific post will be shown.  If you wrote 3 ... those posts will show...for each separate post you have to click on the replies.

My parents are alcoholics.  That's what they do blame it on someone else.  Change the topic.  Go into their rages.  You know you weren't in a mood and your reality tells you that.  They have a support group called Al-Anon...these are people who are dealing with an alcoholic (whether spouse, siblings, children, parents, etc.).  Churches have these groups.  Another place to look is the yellow pages and local paper usually lists these types of groups.  When I was younger I went to Ala-teen.  It was helpful...plus you learn the alcohoics "tricks" and you learn not to enable them.

Good luck & hang in there

Rhonda
