02/21 More Wifestyles

Quote From: puttycat

So Grant, what are you provoked thoughts on the last post?  Can we see a copy of your list yet?  I think my husband would appreciate it seeing as he's also an engineer.  Maybe we can implement some or all of your suggestions.  By the way, I am often referred to as the Bob Villa of our family.  It isn't unusual to see me with my tool belt, tightening screws and hinges and spraying DW40 on squeeky doors, or felt-tacking the bottom of chair legs and putting those little rubber pads on cupboard doors to prevent the slam. I also maintain most of the equipment in our home, clean everyday and still have time for the little french maid outfit for my husband.  Oh, and I work full days 5 days a week! But please post your list.  I'm always trying to improve myself.

I have to know how you do it!

I think more interesting and helpful than any list I could put together, would be a description of how you balance everything. I know there are super people out there who juggle everything. I'd like to know how you do it.

You are how old? And how many kids do you have and what are their ages? Do you change those cute little rubber pads monthly? Do you take care of 6 or so pieces of "equipment" or do you live on a farm with  more complex toys. Have pets, livestock, garden? Do you feed and care give or do you have help? Obviously your husband doesn't leave you with the notion that you are not much above a servant in your own home,or you wouldn't feel like dressing  like one for him.

We cannot compare ourselves to each other the way we have been. No one lives the same life. Where one is strong another is weak. I cannot possibly measure up to Kelly in tolerance because with little ones every where and a man like Grant rollin in and tearing her down, well I couldn't put up with it.

Kelly ...... time will pass and they will need you less, the kids I mean, there will be more time to do things. Then  they will be in stuff at school and sports and there will be less time again. Welcome to the roller coaster!  BTW I've seen houses  way  worse than they made yours out to be.

I think you are a caring mom and you love your kids and husband. Kudos to you that you try as hard as you do, some don't do as much. Maybe you needed to be on that "Wife Swap" show and cross your fingers he'd get a really crappy "homemaker" in the trade. Bet he'd have that ring on when ya got back! Just keep plugging away and when you get down, remember ....you are not alone. There are a lot of us on the boat!
