media is the evil

Quote From: rubitulip

unfortunately a lot of men do think that the girls on film and in magazines are real.  Women understand they arent because we know what it would take to look like that.  Men dont.  They think its just taking care of yourself.  It is real sad.  But again I blame the media.  Men are this way because God made them visual beings.  Hollywood has just taken that and ran with it.
That is so true. When's the last time you were in the mirror fussing with your hair getting ready to throw the brush at the mirror, when your husband walks around the corner, looks at his watch and sighs. It kinda makes ya wanna throw the brush at him. The media has taken this to a whole new level. Now I'm like looking in the mirror and wantin to throw my bra at it. There just ain't nothin I can do about the size of my boobs. I'm told that they're great but when I look in the mirror I see less than perfect. When I see and hear men going on about the women on T.V. I want to scream. Even some of the comercials on T.V. are like light porn. I feel so inadequate when I am with a man and we are watching television together. I don't want to ever sit next to a man watching T.V. It makes me feel ugly. If I've been primping and trying to get beautiful I feel okay up until I see some of these things on T.V. In 30 sec. my pride is out the window and I feel rediculous for having spent so much time on the outfit I've thrown together. I guess I'm just a little too extreme. I can't seem to get over it. I realize there is no man in the world that could or would really be able to love me. The only thing that I could do is to become amish which is part of my background but I've never had to live the life. I have a job and a car, electronics. I'm also spoiled by these goods and I don't think I could give them up. I just suppose I will always be single. It's really sad because I have 2 children and they will never have the opportunity to live that wonderful little life. I do hate myself.

I guess that everyone will know that I am crazy after they read some of these messages. I'm glad I finally have this freedom because I don't know any of you. Anyway about the media. Has anyone ever noticed how almost every single thing has just a little bit of sex appeal tossed in. There was a Brrger King commercial a few months back. I thought it was rather disgusting. A woman dipped her finger into a bucket of something and proceeded to suck it off her finger. Are they trying to sell food or start up a pornoburger drive-thru. I know they are just trying to make memorable commercials to sell their products but come on. Where is it gonna end. Do we all have to be hit in the head by an overgrown out of control boob before we realize what is happening to our world's women. I say this stuff kinda jokingly but man. I don't want to be the dumb girl sittin in the house cooking and cleaning and blah, while my man is out hangin with the dudes talkin' bout, did ya see so and so on that movie, yeah I'd like to blah, blah her. Women technically don't have time to go sittin round with all the girls talking about a bunch of horseshit. I personally am single, but even when I wasn't I worked full-time. We as women are expected to have well behaved children, clean house, well put together wardrobe and hair, cook well, stay fit (no matter how boring our lives are we need to keep our nose out of the fridge.), laundry. The list goes on, and it doesn't take very long to type these chores but it takes a superwoman to handle it all while working full-time. All the men that I know, when they come home from work they are just exhausted. They plop their feet up turn on the tube or go visit there buds while waiting for dinner. There chores might consist of mowing the lawn (I mow my own of course) or maybe even fixing the car. I wish I knew more about fixing cars it would be alot less boring than doing dishes. I have to shut up now I think I may become addicted to this sight and I didn't realize how much time I was wasting. I probably need help.

Hello,

just who is perfect today?  Are those who have had makeovers and such perfect?  Do they really look perfect? From what I see there are breasts, teeth, mouths backsides and noses that come in series.  These doctors seem to use the same mould for everybody. Beauty is in being different, isn't variety the spice of life? Beauty is also ephemeral - no matter what operation you have it won't last long. Ican understand someone undergoing plastic surgery because of ugly scarring, burns accidents but not this excessive search for something that doesn't and can never exist.  Perhaps the time and effort should be put into something else.

From the looks of this forum, it's obvious that many women are bitter and blame men for THEIR own low self-worth.

Remember the saying, "Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent?" Well, it's 100% correct.

There are ZILLIONS of great guys out there (and there are zillions of loser women out there) so let's stop all the generalizing. I happen to be married to a great guy, have great guy friends and have had mostly great guys in my life. I CHOOSE not to allow loser guys in my life.

Men may be visual creatures, but nobody makes them shallow...not even the messed-up media with its lack of good values. INDIVIDUALS are either good or bad and it's a choice they make...just as so many women apparently like to date and marry losers and then wonder why they feel inadequate.

Take control of your lives, Ladies. This lady sits in the driver's seat and demands respect! We all should do the same. If you don't like yourself, it has little to do with the guy next to you!!! Only you can change you. Get working!
