Quote From: pizarnik I take 200 mg/day of Lamictal, and I constantly feel drained and achy. In general, I just feel like crap. We have even boosted my dose of Wellbutrin, but it hasn't really helped.
Otherwise, though, Lamictal works pretty well. It keeps me from cycling so much.
Thanks for your input on how Lamictal makes you feel. My medical doctor said that Lamictal and Remeron (which I also take) can cause flu-like symptoms. He suggested I contact my psychiatrist and ask him which of these meds we should adjust. It was like he threw a coin in the air and chose Lamictal. He said to go down from 225 per day to 150 per day. I made it down as far as 200 and crashed, so I had to go back up to the 225. It took about 3-4 days before I stabilized again. My doctor made a comment, if I can remember exactly, that there are other drugs that can be used in place of Lamictal, like Lithium. At one time my doctor had me on Lamictal, Lithium and an anti-depressant that I can't remember off the top of my head. That combination of medicine was absolutely terrifying. Has your doctor ever suggested substituting Lithium for Lamictal and adding it with your anti-depressant? The medication problems I am having seem to never end. I would be really grateful if you or someone you know had some info on this.
Thanks so much for your message.
