IT IS DIFFICULT TO BELIEVE THAT PEOPLE LIVE THAT WAY, BUT I GUESS IT TAKES ALL KINDS TO MAKE A WORLD.
I agree that this woman is begging for attention. She spoke truthfully when she admitted that she is in full revolt againt the norms of society. Unfortunately, she is dragging her innocent children into her personal revolt, which , to me , is revolting. I didn't hear ONE expression of respect, neither for self , nor for her children. I am deeply concerned about the effect her tactlessness and lack of respect for her fifteen-year old daughter's PRIVATE life , feelings , and desire for PRIVACY. The girl and her siblings, have the RIGHT to have their bodies, feelings, and private actions treated with RESPECT. Their very private actions and thoughts MUSt be considered sacred ground, not to be trespassed on or hung out to public viewing and comments.I feel very sure that this woman would contend that women have the right to abortion on the grounds that it is a privacy issue. Privacy issues are an outgrowth of self-respect and respect for others. This woman and the other adult members of the household have much to learn. I have a hard time with the lack of sensitivity expressed and publicly portrayed by this person and her adult associates in the home.
Dr. Phil: What were YOU thinking when you didn't confront her directly with these errors of good behavior? I realize you did not want to embarrass these people on national television. You have, however , confronted other misbehaviors squarely and directly. Why not this time?
