Depression

Quote From: psychwife2

I hope you don't take offense by what I am going to say....I only mean it in the most loving and caring way. If your daughter committed a crime, or let's say there was enough evidence that the police thought that she did, you can not blame yourself if you cannot rescue her from the consequences of what she did. Sure the boyfriend was wrong....sure she was hurt as well....but if she broke the law in order to gain some sort of retaliation, then what she did was wrong and you owe it to her to let her face the consequences. Otherwise, she will always expect you to bail her out of her bad situations.

I know it is easy for me to say this since it isn't my child...but you know, deep down, that she has to be accountable for her actions...otherwise she will never grow and learn to be a vital part of society.

Quit beating yourself up and put your energy in helping her see a better direction for her life. You won't be sorry....but then again, that is my humble opinion.

Good luck to you both.

I have received a letter from her and I feel more hopeful.  She thinks I have "thrown her away" because I haven"t gotten her out on bond. I was very scared of what she would do to the girl and

to her boyfriend because she snapped and was arrested.  She told me she was struck by him first and the police arrived when she was defending herself. My husband visited her and she has a black eye and bruises all over. She can't understand why he was not arrested, too. I only hope that she is through with him after all of this and that she will seek counseling because this is just too much

drama for one person to have in their life! I do thank you for responding because I was way down

in the well of myself, so to speak. I haven't been away from her in my life for this lenghth of time.

I was just paranoid and thought all the worse things. The thing is I am glad she is still alive!!

I read so many stories in the paper about this kind of crime of passion. You never think it will

be your daughter or son that will make the headlines!
