I totally agree with you, it's past time for men to have more secure options as to unwanted pregnancys as well as protection from diseases.  It's a proven fact that there are a large number of women who want to get pregnant without benefit of marriage, comittment, or any financial protection for themselves or any potential child.   All you have to do is watch daytime tv shows like Morey Povich Show, Judge Hatchett, etc. to find out there are women throwing themselves at men to have sex, wanting a child, so they think, naively thinking that they will have the man to back them financially, and emotionally, without the benefit of marriage, comittment, or financial support protection.  Most of these are young, immature women as young as 11 yrs. old, but not all, some are much older and should have matured enough to know this is false.  If you watched Dr. Phil's show on the young teen mother that had a child out of wedlock at the tender age of 15 yrs. of age, you would know it happens in way too many families where young women experiment, are not emotionally equipped to handle an affair, much less a child, have no realistic idea how draining being a parent, much less a single parent can be.  I've been on both sides of this, as a single mother forced to raise my children alone.  And yes I was married  - to a deadbeat Dad.   Now I am the grandmother to child without the benefit of marriage, that was the product of a woman who wanted to get pregnant, and lied, manipulated my son into getting her pregnant.   This woman has made my son's life a living hell ever since.  Is it just the money.  No way, my son pays his child support way in advance.  And he spends all his free time that he can with his son.  She wants complete control over the child and fights my son to deny him time with his child.  So, it's not all about child support all of the time. They have joint custody, but she retains physical custody, and believe me it's cost him plenty to get and keep that, as well as visitation time.  Meantime, this woman uses and abuses Welfare, and every other charity program she can, including HUD.  The legal expense far outweighs the child support.   Anyone out there believe this is the best situation for a child to be in?? 

 I think men and women both have choices and the start the minute you enter the bedroom. Who cares if she told him she could not get pregnant and she was taking the pill. He still made a choice to have unprotected sex. Had he used a condom everytime and she had still become pregnant would we be having this discussion. If he wasn't ready to be a father he wasn't ready to be having sex. We all know nothing is fulproof, you have to look out for yourself. If you dont want to have children then protect yourself. If you don't protect yourself then you have to pay the price.
