Debating Among Different Religious Beliefs

Quote From: numba1

According to the christian bible, Jesus was crucified on the cross and allegedly "died". Also according to the bible, Jesus was resurrected and ascended to heaven a few days later.

If this is to be accepted, where then is this big deal sacrifice that christians talk about? Death, erased by resurrection is not death. Consider Judas. Judas played the most important role in the crucifixtion story. Without Judas, there would be no crucifixtion. Yet Judas truly died (was not resurrected). Judas was sacrificed. Jesus' death was only half-baked.

If you don't mind me asking, what religion do you follow?  If you follow any at all?

Thanks

Elffie

Something you mentioned regarding the resurrection brought this to mind.

Easter Question:

Christ was put in the tomb on Good Friday and Resurrected on Sunday Sunrise. Now the scriptures make it very clear that he was in the tomb 3 days and 3 nights, how can you get 3 days and 3 nights from Friday right before sunset to Sunday Sunrise? - This is impossible!

He also died on the preparation day because he had to be taken down off the cross and have is body prepared before the Sabbath, the Bible also makes it very clear that he was resurrected on the Sabbath?

Resurrection does not erase death...no more than winning a battle erases the battle....victory does not erase the suffering....I sure wouldn't want to be beaten, scourged, mocked, and crucified as Jesus was....only God could humble Himself to become human.....He put Hisself in our shoes...not for Himself but so that we could better understand Him, be able to be with Him, and to show how much He loved us....Judas' death was of his own doing, by suicide...I don't think not betraying Jesus would've stopped Jesus' crucifixtion...the government was already pretty ticked with him, they just found Judas' weakness for money.

Number 1, Climb up on the cross and "allegedly die" and we will "allegedly mourn for you" but you missed a stop that Jesus made on the way, Hell.

While you are on the cross bleeding and going thru your "Alleged torture". just remember, it's no big deal, you are going to live again.

Judas was told by Jesus that "the devil had Judas in his grasp at last".  You are part right, if it weren't for Judas there would be no Crucifixion, but if it wasn't him it would have been someone else.  Yes, Judas died alright, he killed himself, by hanging.   Most important roll ?

Oh yes, while you are up there on the cross, we may not mourn after all because it will be just a half-baked deal.

I believe in the second coming of Christ.

When Jesus comes to take His followers to heaven, the dead will be risen.  Does that make their deaths only "half-baked? "

I do have sympathy for Judas, as well as Satan. I think they are two of the more sympathetic characters in  Christianity.

Can you not see that death can be a sacrifice. In the military men or women would sacrifice their lives so that their buddies/friends could live.

And death was not erased.... Its still here people die everyday. His resurrection did not erase it..... When he died....... to be resurrected he had to first conquer/defeat death itself. He did this with his father's power and his faith without them he would have failed. In a sense Jesus sacrificed his life so we could live.
