they don't have a registry in Kansas
Quote From: chikara1I am so sorry for your situation.
Many states have a requirement that a father be registered in the putative father registry in order to receive notice of a potential adoption for a child that they might be have. But there are obviously problems with notice and when a man responds. I've seen and know of cases where tremendous injustice has been done to fathers who responded to notice of a pending adoption just a little too late to satisfy the judge.
In the pain that I know that you must feel at the core of your being, I hope that you can somehow find it in you to specifically identify the injustices and try to resolve them legislatively.
And more than anything else, I wish you the best with your son. even if they would have had one I had no knowledge. I assumed it was a basic human right to be with your own children. I also had no reason to check into it. I did look into stopping her from having an abortion. And I can understand why that's not possible but it still hurt thinking she was going to kill our unborn son. I had no idea she could hide a pregnancy from everybody but she did. You are very correct there is a tremendous amount of injustice when it comes to father's parental rights. It's not too late for the appeals court to do the right thing and stop this adoption. I am still waiting on their decision.
