most importantly
Quote From: phil4real Dear Steven, it's a miracle to say the least that you were able to win the fight over drugs and alcohol. My son has been so close. He's accepted he has a problem, detoxed, gone to meetings and had support people.,just never can stay there. I truly agree that Jesus is the way through this devastating problem. He's only 31 years old and has been in and out of legal trouble for years. Right now he's going to court in three different counties, for theft, illegal trespassing, and assault against a police officer. Needless to say his dad and I are emotionally exhausted. It's gotten so bad that we've gotten him motel rooms to live in because he's made it so he can't be here with us. To be honest, I sometimes think he could get to where he doesn't know who we are and hurt one of us. Tomorrow he's checking into a halfway house he was in the first time he got clean. He's only doing it because he has no where eles to go. This place usually only takes people who have been clean a while, but since they know him there,an exception's going to be made. I just hope he doesn't blow this,he's been drinking heavily for several days. Chances are that in a few weeks he'll be going to prison for one of the charges against him. My heart breaks that it's come to this. He's lost his wife, his family's trust, but worst of all himself. Please pray for him. His name is Dustin. Thank you. As i was reading over the reply i wrote Steven, i realized I'd left out the most precious things my son has lost: his dignity, self respect, and love for himself. My prayer is that one day, hopefully very soon, he'll be able to regain those precious pieces of himself because he truly is a remarkable human being!!
