I'm not saying that internet predators are sick & disgusting.  Believe me, they are!  That is why Dr. Phil did this episode, to show parents that they can't let the computer baby-sit their kids.  That it's not safe to let them be on the internet unsupervised.

What I don't get is why you think that they are not as damaging as Ken's abuse of you, your mom & your young daughter.  Sure, it doesn't seem to have the same size impact, but it does have a negative impact regardless!  It has an impact that will effect you & any other relationships you may have with men.  It has an impact on how your daughter views men & maybe even people in authority.     

Yes, these people need a lot a help & some may even be beyond help.  But DO NOT take the light of your situation.  It's far too early.  Are you able to go hang out with your girlfirends without getting tons of phone calls from Ken?  Do you feel safe in your own home or do you fear a day when Ken comes beating on your door?  Have you gotten your life calmed enough that you are either ready to move on or marry Ken?  I tend to doubt that, simply cause you said "Ken & I have nothing on this."  Yeah, you do.  Being hunted like prey, regardless of age, is still horrifying or at least it should be!   

You tell Dr. Phil to take these kind of guys down?  I feel the same way about Ken.  I'm not blaming him, cause I, too, came from an abusive home.  I do blame him for not getting help before he let his temper get sooo out of control.  With half a brain he'd have to know that what he has done is wrong, wrong, wrong!  When he "bumped your car", he could have seriously hurt you & maybe even caused your daughter harm. 

Ken may not be a predator like the ones on today's show, cause he doesn't go after young girls/boys via the internet.  But how many times did he hunt you down?  How many times did he treat you like a possession?  That you had no rights & that you belonged to only him?  How many times did you try to hide, like an animal from the hunter?  HUH?  How many times?    

I'm sorry, but I fail to see that big of a difference.  Be it only 1 person hunted down or many...a predator is a predator.  The only thing that is different is the prey.  And you are only fooling yourself if you don't realize that.  Cause threatening you & your mom, hitting your car & his physical violence is grounds enough to lock him up as well.  He just doesn't have the same number of young victims, but he does still have his victims...your daughter, your mom & you.

I'm not trying to be cruel.  But do not be looking at the Boogey Man on the internet, when you have your own right there in your own life!  Take care of the clear & present danger first & then work outward.  Be less afraid of the creeps who prey on young boys & girls on the internet, cause your daughter isn't using the internet yet, is she?  Be more worried of the man who claims to love his little girl, but threatens his mom & grandmother.  That is a bigger danger at the current moment I believe.   I see it like this:  Make sure your home is secure, then your neighborhood & then your city/town.  Safety & security MUST start at home.
