Quote From: cbgrumpy

I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE BEEN SO DISCUSSED WITH SOMEONE LIKE YOU. DRINKING AND DRIVING AND HAVE A SICK CHILD. I HAVE A CHILD WITH CYSTIC FYBROSIS AND TO DAY IS HER BIRTHDAY. I THANK GOOD EVERYDAY I HAVE WITH HER. SHE IS 20 YEARS OLD TODAY. WHICH THE DRS. HAD SAID SHE WOULD ONLY LIVE UNTIL SHE WAS TEN. SHE IS TWENTY AND HEALTHIER THEN ALOT OF GIRLS WITH NO DISEASE. YOU NEED TO GET IN TREATMENT AND BE THERE FOR YOUR CHILD YOU NEVER KNOW HOW LONG YOU HAVE WITH THEM AND CHERISH FOR WHAT GOD HAS GIVEN YOU. NOW MY DAUGHTER HAS MOVED OUT AND I MISS HER SO MUCH I WORRY ABOUT 24/7 I WOULD GIVE MY LIFE FOR HER. PLEASE GET HELP!!!!!! YOUE CHILD NEEDS YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your daughter is very blessed you have such a caring loving mom.  I understand is seems so hard to believe that a person especially a "mom" could put anything or anyone before her child.  That fact is what makes this issue so extremely difficult.  I know speaking for myself, I can't believe I could have ever put my desire to drink over my kids..it completely goes against everything I believe and everything I am.  Drinking is a symtom another problem.  In my case, depression, shyness, and lack of self worth are the real problems contributing to my drinking.  This is why I consider this a fight for my life, and a fight for my childrens lifes!  I pray for this mom in Dr. Phil's show!
