You don't think so.........this may be graphic for some.....I apologize now. My sister and I did not know these so called friends. Mom never came back as she promised. Sis was in school. I had to stay in the hell hole while she was gone. We suffered abuse that no child should have had to suffer! At age 5, I was 25 pounds.I had blcak and blue marks from head to toe.  I could not eat because they shoved food down my throat. I puked it up and they shoved it back down! I ate out of garbage cans because I was so hungry. I had no socks, no buttons on my coat, no mittens, no hat, and no panties. Indiana is very cold in the winter months! I sustained physical abuse because the reverend thought I was possessed with the devil. So he beat me daily with a leather strap and a belt buckle. I was locked in closets for hours along with spiders and bugs and mice, and burned with an iron for things I did not do. His wife threw me into corners and I had a broken nose that when I finally had it fixed due to breathing difficulties, the surgeon cried when I told him what had happened. True, maybe I wasn't left like Michael was, but we still have the same feelings. Being abandoned by someone who says they love us. A mother that we looked up to for protection, love and to be there. I'm not here to compare.........but to unite with others that share those same feelings. We can help each other out. You feel you need to judge and compare? God help you. I often find that people like you are a little naive to what the whole picture is. Please do not judge until you know ALL the facts. Thank you.........Nora 

Personally, I would rather be left to the care of strangers who would care for me then with "friends" who abused, beat, and starved me.  There is far worse fates out there then being left  alone at a park, she could have driven him into the woods and left him to the care of wild animals and the elements.    

And I take issue with Mike saying he does not blame anyone  blah blah when he was  accusing him mother of making excuses, sorry Mike you were looking for someone to blame for your feelings or you would not have made such a huge ta do about it on national TV.  You knew who she was where she was and could have done all you did with out involveing Dr Phil.   Maybe you hoped  for a new Truck as some kind of survival  gift.   Take a number there are many people  who would be in line for  that  reward, before you IMHO.    I am  rather embarassed for you that you think that your storey even warrents this kind of attention, there is much much much much worse things happening to children out there right now that are more important then this  22 year old abandonment . 

Actually, if we all think about what really haappened to Michael, he was actually lucky and very blessed because he ended up living a normal and stable life with a man and a woman who loved him and cared for him. They gave him more than he would have ever gotten from that woman.  The fact of the matter is that Michael is alive, healthy and happy..... His sister lived with that unestable drugaddict woman and now she is dead.  Michel was given a chance the moment he was abandoned at that park and should only be sorry that his sister was not abandoned with him. Michael has been blessed, first  with  the love of his true parents, and then with his wonderful wife and his adorable children.
