Troubled Teens
Quote From: beertjeI would advise to contact your social worker and discuss the possiblitiies of her being placed into foster care for you and your son's protection. They may assess a parental fee, but for your family's safety as well as hopefully helping your daughter realize that the behaviors she's displaying are no longer going to be accepted, it would be well worth it. My prayers are with you. Believe it or not, the thought has crossed my mind. She has the uncanny ability to make me feel guilty for her behavior. When I have told her that I am going to admit her to a facility I get the "you never loved me, what a horrible mother you are routine". Then I am told by my insurance that she doesn't qualify to be admited because she only "pretended" to try and kill herself. And, THEY get to decide wheteher her threats towards me and others are real or fake. We don't have a social worker anymore. Where we live, we were told that because she is 17 SHE gets to make any and all psychiatric decisions...I have no say in whether she has a social worker, therapist, psychiatrist or stays on her medication even though at 17 she is not a legal adult. I checked the laws here and strangely and sadly they are correct. I even had to get her permission just to make appointments for her to see the therapists. And, because I am disabled, I have horrible insurance and she got highly inadequate care and the state could care less what me or my family is going through. It breaks my heart for my son because he just doesn't deserve this. Nor do I. I just don't understand. Thank you for your prayers. We need them!
