Quote From: rosalietayI am 59 an have been smoking for about 43 years. I tried to quit for the first time a little over a month ago and did it for a whole month. Some serious stress came up and you guessed it--I lit that first one again! Wish I had never, ever done it again. Nothing is as bad as going back and starting over. I have to do this by the first of June, I just have to!! You are all such an inspiration so I am going to count on all of you to help. I noticed that there is another person that is marking her calendar for June 1st so we can do this together, I just know we can. Before, I used the Commit lozenge. I thought it worked very, very well. I just simply did not want to complete my commitment to quit at the time. The other thing that was of even greater value was each time I got that craving I would say a prayer. God would take the craving away. It was wonderful the way He would could control it.
Hi
We are all learning from one another. And picking the cigarettes back up again after stress hits, you have learned from that. I too fell off the cart when I first started, but it was that mistake that helped me learn. Yes it is very hard to try again, but what have you to lose...........? Have you tried the Wellbrutrin, it takes the edge off in quitting. Maybe do what you did before, it worked for a month till stress arises. Have a plan, if stress arises how will you deal with it, deep breathing works, just like you are taking a drag off a cigarette, and exhaling, you have a feeling of calm come over you, till the urge fades. I still do that when I get frustrated, or when I would normally reward myself with a cigarette. Come aboard here we are here to help.
