Thanks & Other Stuff!

Quote From: yesyoucan

You might could contact a shop that sales computer supplies as most have an inhouse technical staff who might tranfser for you or know someone who could for not much of a cost at all. I cand transfer old MAC disks to CD on mine yet Lynn has to walk me through it. I think I just load disk in one slot and then put on a new formated CD in other slot and drag disk onto that icon on computer screen and copies onto. Although there might be more steps than that. I have a Macintosh though and my comptuer is over ten years old so maybe an option since CD's hadn't been out that long then. Those computer tech staff love to talk computers so pick up the phone as might save you what sounds like A LOT OF TIME, from what you said.

Adding a picture to your message

1. Open your message posting window

2. Click the last icon on the tool bar, it looks like a picture of a mountain and a sun. This opens up the Photo Manager.

3. At the top where it says "Upload New Photo" click the "Browse" button.

4. Locate the picture you want to add on your computer

5. Where it says "Title", give your picture a title (otherwise it will be called Title)

6. Click the Upload button on the Photo Manager

7. Your picture should then appear in My Photos. If it's a really big picture, it might take some time to load so give it a few seconds.

8. Once you have a picture stored in My Photos, to add it to your message box just click on the picture.

NOTE: You can only store up to 10 pictures in My Photos. If you delete a picture, it will also disappear from any message you added that picture to. Make sure you give each picture you upload a new Title."

"To avoid problem of vanishing pictures in posts:

* Name each picture you upload with a different title so if you upload a picture of a cat, you can write the word cat1 where it says Title. A new cat picture could then be called cat2, something different than the first one.

* If you want the picture to stay on your message, do not delete it from the photo manager. The photo editor can hold up to 10 pictures, as long as a picture is in the photo editor, it should stay in your post." GOOGLE IMAGES (seach for picture wanted and Barb says: "You right click on the picture you want and then hit save in I put my in my picture file.")

Some members have said that if you type your replies on e-mail or word programs in color that just copying and pasting to a post on Dr. Phil Website the colors will automatically transfer to post. I have a MAC instead of a PC so I don't know. That is a lot easier than using codes. Here are codes for whoever so you can try either way. I keep my mail open while I am online and refer to a draft e-mail to use my codes so I don't keep having to type out and can just copy and paste and change colors or sizes on Dr. Phil Website. I'd think this too could be done to type in color on a PC word program then copy and paste to post. Just keep Dr. Phil website page and Mail in such a way that not flushed together so you can click back and forth to do. For instance, right now I am typing this on an e-mail and I will copy and paste to Dr. Phil in a post when finished. Also, some websites that have color pallets you can use color codes (#0099FF). You insert color number code where color name would go. You will not see code before each color change because by adding the symbol < in front of font that activates code and code disappears and presto chango... Color wanted appears.

font color=copper size=1> (Add symbol < in front of font to activate code.)

font color=blue size=2> (Add symbol < in front of font to activate code.)

font color=fusha size=3> (Add symbol < in front of font to activate code.)

font color=purple size=3> (Add symbol < in front of font to activate code.)

font color=#0099FF size=4>

(Add symbol < in front of font to activate code.)
Thanks for the info.   I'll give it ago.   I saw my nephew (now 16 months) last Wednesday. He sure has grown and his antics were very amusing. Poor little bloke was recovering from a nasty cough. He is so gorgeous. Then again, I am one very biased aunty!   Unfortunately, I sprained my left ankle. Then two or three weeks later I stubbed my left foot on a chair and broke a toe! It's starting to heal. Maybe I can resume my spring cleaning, or should I say "winter cleaning"!   The news that JAG Season 1 is to be released on 7 September here in Australia really made my day, especially when I confirmed it with the local Paramount office.   JAG Season 10 will air in August too. Woohoo!

Thanks for letting me know about the purple print. The html code for this shade is #9900ff. My sister uses a Mac as she is a graphic designer.   JAG Season 1 is finally coming out on DVD here in Australia. Woohoo!   Yesterday, I saw a gorgeous little baby girl at work. She was a month old, but her father said she was seven weeks premature. She was the size of a doll (and so adorable too!) He was holding the baby in one arm and playing the in-store X-Box 360 with the other. I asked if he was teaching his little girl to play the game, as she was awake. She was one of the tiniest babies I have ever seen. My sister, my nephew (now 16 months) and I visited the Bonds Factory Outlet last month. I bought some baby gifts and underwear. My nephew had fun checking out some of the items too. It was very cute.   My novel is coming along slowly. I haven't had a chance to check if the computer store up the road can work with 5.25" disks and copy them to CDs or DVDs. Last night, I turned my flat upside down trying to find a packet containing an eyelet punch, brads and cardboard shapes! It drove me nuts. I tried looking for it again, but no such luck. I hope it turns up soon. Meanwhile, I am doing a major Spring Clean as Dad is coming over from Western Australia soon. Most of the mess is because I need more cupboards, bookshelves, etc, to store books, CDs, DVDs and stamping/craft/sewing items. Not to mention all those taped episodes of JAG ... Last week I ordered a kitchen dresser from the furniture shop up the road. I took one of my dining chairs so they can match the colour. Saving up for nice new furniture whilst on a Disability Pension/part time job is difficult. I'm taking it one step at a time, but it takes ages to save up!
