After two previous attempt to send you a reply I'm trying again. First I want to introduce myself as an addict and alcoholic with a thirty year history of use. I got sober last year and God willing will celebrate 365 days and nights ;) of continuous sobriety on September 28 of 2005. I first want to tell you that I know how hard it is to do this alone. In fact it's close to impossible. All addicts and Alcoholics suffer from terminal uniqueness in that they think they're situation is different from anyone Else's. Only with the help of family friends and working a program weather it be 12-step or something else can you achieve sobriety. Sometimes it takes a while to get family and friends on board but as you live in sobriety they usually fall in line - unless they are addicts and alcoholics themselves.

Please do not let the cost of treatment keep you from getting help. Think of it this way how much time and money are you spending to obtain your pills. First thing go to your Dr.and tell them you are addicted to pain pills. If you absolutely can't afford traditional detox which is 5-7 days in the hospital. Then your Dr. can give you medications to help with the physical discomforts of detox. Next start going to Narcotics Anonymous meetings if you can't  find NA go to AA tell them what you are looking for. Some AA meetings will welcome you in others won't but they will all generally steer you in the right direction to get help. These meetings are usually available in the evenings so you can go when your husband is home and the kids are in bed. Some women's meetings even welcome children and the members take turns watching the kids.

If you are in state funded insurance make sure your doctor gives you a primary diagnosis of depression with addiction as a 2nd. You are depressed weather you think so or not and most state funded insurance won't cover addiction related treatment but with the depression diagnosis you may qualify for inpatient treatment in a state funded or County funded bed. Believe me everything will fall into place when you get honest with your husband and DR. Write to me here for encouragement and help. I always try to answer daily but this new board is problematic sometimes. As I said I wrote this message twice before only to have it deleted by the system. It's enough to make me drink again - just kidding but we do have to have a sense of humor about these things

Peace and God Bless you

Please don't use money as a means to not get help.  Your'e husband needs to watch your kids now before he has to raise them because you are dead.  12-20 pills aday is a lethal dose.  Narcotics is a free organization where you can get help.  And I don't know about your state's facilities and medical help, but if I were you I would go into debt to help before my children don't have a mother to take care of them.  I might seem harsh but I just think you really need to get real Right now.  That is a lot of pills and you might feel fine but I will tell you what your Liver is being destroyed by the day and your Heart is too.  And everytime you get in that car with your children you risk having, getting dizzy, losing conscienciousness,  a heart attack,  etc.,  and killing yourself, those children and maybe someone elses family, and My grandchild and Son and and his wife live in AZ AND  Frankly: I am taking it very personal that you are putting my family at risk.

Please talk to your Husband, go to a meeting, go to a hospital, go to a church do anything to Just please GET HELP!!!!!!
