Replies to '07/06 Baby Wars'

I will reiterate yet again that I find no disagreement in the idea that a man should be able to choose as much as a woman. . .. Having said that.. for starters.. I guarantee that if you go and do a little research on these "safe zone" babies you will find that they had both a mother and a father. Furthermore.. I will try not to start a deluge on the point you raise that it is "better" than the alternative of leaving children in dumpsters, in toilets, etc. when I add that babies in dumpsters or in blood filled buckets in alleyways are what they are.. dead babies. I really don't see much of a difference between killing a baby in utero or killing one a minute or two after birth. Obviously, one is more accepted morally and socially, but they are both the result of unwanted pregnancy. Both can be prevented with a condom, or better yet.. no sex in the first place.  

I do not take a "pro-life" stance simply because I have seen up close and personal what is left when the choice to have an abortion is taken away, lots of bruising, bleeding, death by blunt force trauma, molestation, etc as most Americans have. Its not that I believe a woman, per say, has the right to cut off a life. It is realizing the facts and they are as follows: If a man, or a woman, at any point in time refuses to have responsibility before or during intercourse (not to mention the partnership in general) and they refuse to have responsibility afterward , someone is going to pay the price. Namely, a human life. And I personally would rather see it done in a clinical atmosphere legally than on the street corner like hustling crack. Inevitably, it is like everything else that borders legal and illegal in people's opinions. Somehow.. the balls come out full force when the responsibility can be "taken care of" instead of TAKEN CARE OF. i think we need legal abortion, I think we need free condom distribution, I think we need education, but most of all I think we need to learn how to keep it in our damn pants now and then.
