Sometimes, I feel like my parents want to get involved in everything that goes on with me and sometimes I just want to keep certain things to myself. There are some things I don't mind telling them, but sometimes I just want to be personal.
To the nosy parents, it's time to realize that your kids are grown and have their own life, it's time to get one for yourself.
I agree that the daughter should have a life of her own. The parents should have a life of their own also. Thirty years ago, my parents made me leave their home and reside in a Residential Care Facility. My living with them was ruining their marriage. Thirty years later, I'm still living in Facilities and enjoying my life. I've become a writer as an avocation and I've been published six times since the year 2004 for clips only. I'll be sixty years old this December and almost a full fledged Senior Citizen.
Three days a week, I take classes at my local Senior Center. I have a Physical Fitness Class, a Creative Writing Class and a Literature Discussion Class. I have friends in these classes and enjoy taking them. I also see a Psychiatrist once a month for medication refills and therapy. I take medicines for three other problems also.
All this time has past and I still have my family. We get together as a family once a month to celebrate Birthdays and Anniversaries. All my family has their life and I have mine. We still act as a family unit and hopefully will stay that way for a long time.
