Trying to Quit Smoking?

Quote From: newjewells

It was a 4 hour car ride and I was doing good till a cop came up fast behind me then stqayed on my tail for ten minutes. I told my daughter to give me a cigarette. then the next stop we made I bought a pack and I gave it to her to control. I ended up smoking a half a pack that day. then came home and haven't smoked since. So I dont know if I should change my meter or not. I am staying sucluded to not have the temptation.

Five days, 21 hours, 41 minutes and 43 seconds. 354 cigarettes not smoked, saving $15.94. Life saved: 1 day, 5 hours, 30 minutes.

Don't worry about slipping.  It's going to happen.  Sounds like you are still on the right track.  I wouldn't change the meter either.  Don't make what you did like a major set back, cause it isn't.  Like I said, it's going to happen.  You are only human.  Good luck!!!  Carrie

I was reading your posting and sooooo understand. It has been 3 months for me and I was a big car smoker too. And I can understand the little panic attack of when a cop gets behind you. For me I don't know why but my nerves become a wreck when there is a cop behind me too. Linda a regular here once told me just say N.O.P.E (not one puff ever) and it has stuck with me. For me my second week was a lot harder than my first week. Not sure why but it was. It got a bit easier after the second week. The second week was my biggest hurdle. Deep breaths and lots of gum got me through it. I think your doing really good that even though you slipped you went back to not smoking. Some people slip and say forget it. I know I have done that many times before. Good luck to you.
