I am so tired of hearing about New Orleans.  You never hear about the suffering on the Gulf Coast in Mississippi.  I grew up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and have friends and family that have gone through a lot worse.  You don't hear them crying and complaining, you see them working, and surviving!  Besides, Hurricane Katrina didn't cause the damage in New Orleans, the Levy's breaking caused the damage.  Yes, New Orleans was flooded, but the Mississippi Gulf Coast was FLATTENED & COMPLETELY DESTROYED!  There isn't enough focus on that!  Please stop talking about New Orleans, and take your story over about an hour to the Gulf Coast of Mississippi, and talk to those strong, wonderful people, and see what you can do to help them.

and in all honesty no one has menchioned all the other places that did in fact take the worst of the storm i too do wish we could get the focus off of a place whear thear owne officals abandom them,

well most of them any ways, the only good i saw were the officers and fire fighters thear that were relly havivg a very hard time keeping the people safe from gangs and looters and every kind of uncommon criminal one could just amagine, wow do you think people may have just missed your reason for being back down thear,  lol i think maybe so they cant see your thear for the ones that had to give above and beyone the call of duty, god bless you and all you has thear to honnor the first responce people thear, they deserve more, and please tell the peop-le of mississippi we havent forgoton them, but this story goes on past katrina its more than just surviving a hurricane,it about surviving the weeks of evil and crime that followed, thease people down thear the victims and the officers and fire fighters had to survive a walk through a real living hell and for thear efforts and commitment guys and gals my hats off to you all god bless you for staying when we all know it would have been easier to have just said to hell with it and leaving, this act you sis makes me proud once again to be an american, god will smile on you guys.

One would think, from past, and present, media coverage, including the three hours of prime time NBC programming last night, that New Orleans bore the brunt of Katrina's fury. If it weren't for the levees, built like the proverbial biblical house on sand, New Orleans would've suffered little damage, compared to those areas in the path of hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and Wilma.
